The Kyra Macy Center at Goose Creek

The Kyra Macy Foundation purchased a 5 acre commercially zoned property in Leesburg, VA, adjacent to the Goose Creek Golf Club and around the corner from “Village at Leesburg” featuring Wegmans, along with a host of retailers, restaurants and residential units.  A single family home, built circa 1900, sits on the property, surrounded by trees and the beautiful sounds of Goose Creek and nature at its best.

The Kyra Macy Foundation acquired the property to serve as a landing zone for rescued animals in preparation for adoption.  In early 2011, Kyra Macy K9 Rescue was born and the property now serves their mission. The Kyra Macy Center at Goose Creek will allow us to save more animals because it is a dedicated safe haven for rescued animals before they are placed with foster families or directly adopted from this facility.

Because the Kyra Macy Center at Goose Creek is commercially zoned, we plan to offer veterinarian services, boarding, grooming, dog bakery, and training, in addition to the adoption services.  All of these services will be available to the rescued animals and the general public as well, and all profits will directly benefit the rescued animals.

In 2010, the property underwent a major renovation from foundation to roof.  What was once considered a “tear down” is now a beautiful, welcoming home with a red roof and wrap around porch.  The interior was designed to allow dogs to feel at home versus the confines of a cold shelter.  Warm and welcoming, dogs are relieved when they enter the doors of the Kyra Macy Center.

Our next project is to design and install a fencing system which will allow dogs the opportunity to socialize and exercise.

Our dreams are big, but we need to raise money to keep the dreams funded.  If you have an interest in development or any facet of fundraising, please contact our Foundation.
